Serves as a transition from a student perspective to an employee by utilizing advanced skills for an entry level Surgical Technologist. Survey Adjustments and Documentation

10-607-136 SURVEY ADJUSTMENTS AND DOCUMENTATION ... provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the knowledge, skills, process, and understanding of coordinates, Compass Rule, and Least Squares adjustments. The use of AdobePro and BlueBeam Revu software for project documentation is introduced as well as the use of mapping software for applications in land surveying. (Prerequisite: 10-607-104, Intro to Surveying/Geomatics)

Sustainable Ag: Issues & Practices

2 cr.

Use critical thinking skills to compare organic and sustainable agricultural practices with industrial agriculture. Explore food production issues including antibiotics, herbicides, hormones, GMOs, animal welfare, crop yields, nutrients, and pollution.

Systems Analysis and Design

3 cr.

10-152-150 SYSTEMS ANALYSIS AND DESIGN ...apply the steps of systems analysis and design including preliminary investigations, setting objectives, establishing costs/benefits, and collecting data. Develop specifications for outputs, inputs, files, procedures, and controls of business systems. (Prerequisites: 10-152-184, SQL Programming; 10-152-173, Programming in C# Part 1)

Benefits and challenges of group work, necessary roles in a team, stages of team development, meeting facilitation, different approaches to problem solving, consensus, data acquisition, analysis, developing alternative solutions, implementation and evaluation.

Technical Reporting

3 cr.

Principles of report writing and correspondence, proposals, feasibility reports, progress reports, investigation reports, evaluation reports, meeting reports, memos, and correspondence. (Prerequisite: 10-801-136, English Composition I OR 10-801-195, Written Communication with a "C" or better).

Therapeutic Massage 1

3 cr.

30-537-101 THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE 1 ...students will learn the environmental considerations and equipment necessary to provide treatment, hygiene and safety, and legal requirements of therapeutic massage. Students will begin hands on training by mastering foundational skills such as draping and positioning, self-care and body mechanics, and basic massage techniques.

Therapeutic Massage 2

3 cr.

30-537-102 THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE 2 ...Students will develop skills in assessment, record keeping, and documentation necessary to provide therapeutic massage. Students will expand their knowledge of massage techniques to include myofascial and deep tissue. Students will begin their clinical experience on assigned dates. Students must hold a current American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR card. (Prerequisite: 30-537-101, Therapeutic Massage 1, 10-537-120 Musculoskeletal Anatomy For The Massage Therapist)

Tools for Office Effectiveness

2 cr.

Students will explore technology that is used within offices including collaboration, networking, and cloud computing.
