Making Decisions With Data
Introduction to the fundamental processes and methodologies of the emerging role of data driven decision-making in organizations. Drawing upon quantitative concepts, tools, and analyses from several disciplines, the learner will obtain skills necessary to demonstrate the usefulness of these tools and analyses in providing optimal technical options in decision-making situations. The emphasis of the course is on the interpretation of the results and subsequently present insights from which effective data driven decisions can be made to benefit internal and external consumers.
Managed Grazing
Examine pasture plants and livestock in a rotational grazing system. Build a fence. Evaluate watering systems, fertilizers, yields and environmental impacts. Meet experienced graziers. Create a grazing plan and budget.
Management of HIM Resources
Examines the principles of management to include planning, organizing, human resource management, directing, and controlling as related to the health information department. (Prerequisites: 10-530-162, Foundations of HIM)
Manufacturing Operations Management Career Experience
Students can select any hands-on experience related to: Internship, Field Research, Service Learning, Capstone, Industry Related or International Experience. Instructor approval required. (Prerequisite: 10-105-103, Career Fundamentals)
Market Research
Learn to convert marketing problems into research problems using systematic inquiry. Utilize the market research process including creating objectives, determining methodology, gathering data, interpreting results, and marking strategic recommendations. Develop problem-solving skills to quantify, forecast, and evaluate opportunities using primary and secondary data. (Pre-requisite: 10-104-110, Marketing Principles)
Marketing Analytics
Explore the theory behind data-driven marketing decisions and learn relevant tools and processes for data collection and analysis. Develop critical thinking skills to interpret metrics, calculate ROI, and pivot strategies based on performance insights. Transform data into actionable recommendations that drive business results. Completion of at least one specialized marketing course (Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, or Content Marketing) recommended. (Pre-requisite: 10-104-110, Marketing Principles)
Marketing Career Experience
Select hands-on experiences related to internship, field research, service learning, capstone, industry-related, or international opportunities. Apply strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in real-world marketing contexts, demonstrating your ability to adapt professional expertise to workplace challenges. Instructor approval is required. Completion of at least 21 program credits recommended. (Pre-requisite: 10-105-103, Career Fundamentals)
Marketing Portfolio
Curate a professional portfolio that demonstrates mastery of the Marketing program outcomes. Students select and justify artifacts, compose reflective narratives analyzing their learning, and articulate marketing concepts through written and oral communication. Learning culminates in a live competency interview in which students explain their knowledge using evidence from the portfolio Completion of at least 15 program credits. (Pre-requisite: 10-104-179, Personal Brand)
Marketing Principles
Explore the marketing environment, consumer behavior, market segmentation, and positioning strategies. Learn to think strategically about the marketing mix as you create product, distribution, pricing, and promotion plans. Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for adapting to dynamic market conditions.
Marketing Your Small Business
Implement and evaluate a marketing plan for their small business. Students will develop a marketing plan for a selected small business. Components of the plan include market research, customer focus, quality, pricing, and advertising.
Massage Clinic and Business Practice
Provides students the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of running a massage clinic. In the business section, topics covered include: ethics and legal requirements, national and state certification and licensing requirements; business startup and management; marketing and financial management. (Co-requisite: 30-537-111, Specialized Therapeutic Massage )
Materials-Strength
Effect of static loads on materials; stresses; properties; bolted, riveted, and welded joints; center of gravity; centroids; inertia; simple beams; torsion; shafts, couplings, and keys; combined stresses and columns. (Prerequisite: 10-606-138, Statics)
