Course Description
31-442-340 FLUX CORED ARC WELDING 3 ...course provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the knowledge, skills, process and understanding of fillet and groove welds in the flat, horizontal and vertical position using self-shielded flux cored arc welding and metal cored electrodes and sub arc equipment. (Prerequisite: Accepted into the Welding program; Corequisite: 31-442-330, Flux Cored Arc Welding 2)

What will I learn?
- Demonstrate FCAW-S fillet welds in the flat or horizontal position on Carbon steel plate
- Demonstrate FCAW-S single and multi-pass fillet welds in the vertical position on Carbon steel plate
- Demonstrate FCAW-S groove welds in the flat position on Carbon steel plate
- Demonstrate metal cored GMAW fillet welds in the horizontal position on Carbon steel plate
- Demonstrate metal cored GMAW groove welds in the flat and/or horizontal position on Carbon steel plate
- Demonstrate sub-arc groove or fillet welds in the flat position on Carbon steel plate
