  1. Examine the history, development, principles, and philosophy of criminal law.
  2. Review and utilize criminal law terminology.
  3. Examine statutory construction, criminal jurisdiction and statutes of limitations in Chapter 939 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
  4. Identify and define the basic elements of a crime.
  5. Recognize elements of party to a crime and vicarious liability.
  6. Identify inchoate crimes.
  7. Analyze defenses to criminal liability.
  8. Identify and utilize elements of crimes against persons
  9. Identify and utilize elements of crimes against health and public safety.
  10. Identify and utilize elements of crimes against habitation and property.
  11. Identify and utilize elements of crimes against privacy, public order and morals.
  12. Identify and utilize elements of law violations related to alcohol, tobacco, and controlled substances.
  13. Identify and consider the rights of victims and defendants.
  14. Identify and consider punishment and sentencing options.
