10-001-109 LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION-ADVANCED...builds upon landscape construction methods learned in Introduction to Landscape Installation. Possible projects include mixed material patios, retaining walls, water features, sustainable landscape elements, rain gardens, roof gardens, wooden structures, etc. (Prerequisite: 10-001-180, Landscape Installation-Introduction)

What will I learn?

  1. Follow proper horticultural practices
  2. Grade a soil surface to a proposed pitch
  3. Install a sodded lawn
  4. Install a seeded lawn
  5. Lay out a landscape using a scaled plan, incorporate triangulation and spot measurement
  6. Make necessary modifications to a plan to accommodate plan inaccuracies
  7. Demonstrate proper construction processes for installing a retaining wall
  8. Demonstrate proper construction processes for installing a brick patio
  9. Demonstrate proper construction processes for installing an ornamental pond
  10. Demonstrate proper construction processes for installing a low voltage system
  11. Construct a wooden landscape structure from a set of plans/details.
