Net Price Calculator

In August of 2008 former President Bush signed into law the new Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) which included new consumer requirements for transparency in college tuition and other institutional information for all schools that participate in federal Title IV financial aid programs. 

In order to help students compare the price and net value of various institutions of higher education the US Department of Education must provide detailed consumer information on schools through their College Navigator web site. The College Navigator site also includes a Net Price Calculator that is based on the following formula:

Average cost of attendance
- Average need- and merit-based grant aid
=     Net Price

Please note that the results you receive from the College Navigator site are just estimates and are meant to give students a better idea of average net price.  Actual net price for students can vary significantly based on academic eligibility for merit awards and income eligibility for need-based awards.
