10-106-142 SOFTWARE PROJECTS ...applying Windows and Word features to manage and format business documents while exercising decision-making, increasing efficiency, and enhancing keyboarding skills. (Prerequisite: 10-106-114, Keyboard-Speed Building, 10-103-121, MS Word Intro)

Software Studies

1 cr.

This course introduces application software types and business usage. Students will be exposed to the differences between consumer and enterprise software versions, basic concepts behind service-oriented and microservices architecture, and software compatibility. (Prerequisite: 10-103-121, MS Word Intro; 10-103-131, MS Excel Intro)

Solar Advanced System Design

4 cr.

10-483-106 SOLAR ADVANCED SYSTEM DESIGN ... this course provides the opportunity for the learner to further develop their knowledge, skills, process and understanding of solar electric and solar thermal systems design and applications while learning basic business and trade skills. Emphasis will be placed on safety, system design, monitoring, installation, maintenance & troubleshooting. (Prerequisites: 10-482-132, Photovoltaics-Design & Site; 10-482-133, Photovoltaics-Adv)

Solid and Hazardous Waste

2 cr.

Identify the hierarchy of and regulations related to solid and hazardous waste, the waste stream, pollution prevention and disposal strategies. Learn detection techniques and proper transporting and handling methods.

Solidworks Fundamentals

1 cr.

Introduces terminology; software operation and interface layout. It also exposes the student to creating basic models, assemblies & using the drawing environment.

SolidWorks Intermediate

2 cr.

Introduces using intermediate features such as patterns, revolve, and sweep. Students learn how to measure center of gravity on assemblies and to create completely dimensioned orthographic drawings. (Prerequisite: 10-606-160, SolidWorks Fundamentals)

SolidWorks Simulation

2 cr.

Stress analysis utilizing the SolidWorks software. Material selection and assembly motion simulation. (Prerequisite: 10-606-106, SolidWorks Intermediate; 10-606-148, Materials-Strength)

Spanish 101

4 cr.

10-802-104 SPANISH 101 ...Learners begin an introduction to the five key components of language study (listening/understanding, speaking, reading, writing, and culture). Task-based instruction emphasizes pronunciation, grammar essentials, basic conversation, and cultural aspects of the people who speak Spanish in the US and around the world. Language skills are reinforced through required individual lab practice.

Spanish 102

4 cr.

10-802-105 SPANISH 102 ...Learners expand their developing language skills by continuing the development of vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar essentials. Use of the target language in conversation, reading, and writing increases. Includes additional history and cultural aspects of the people who speak Spanish in the US and around the world. Task-based instruction and individual lab practice required. Prerequisite: Spanish 101 with C or better or equivalent (1 year of high school Spanish with a grade of C or better; 1 semester of college Spanish with a grade of C or better).

Specialized Therapeutic Massage

3 cr.

30-537-111 SPECIALIZED THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE ..students will develop techniques, including neuromuscular and proprioceptive, for treatment of special populations such as athletes, mother and infant, elderly, end-of-life, and chronic pain. Students will have exposure to modalities and spa therapies, eastern and energetic approaches. Students will continue their clinical experience on assigned dates. (Prerequisite: 30-537-102, Therapeutic Massage 2)

Speech

3 cr.

Explores the fundamentals of effective oral presentation to small and large groups. Topic selection, audience analysis, methods of organization, research, structuring evidence and support, delivery techniques, and other essential elements of speaking successfully, including the listening process, form the basis of the course. (Prerequisite: GPA greater/equal to 2.6; OR Next Gen Rdg score greater/equal to 250 AND Writing score greater/equal to 237; OR ACT Rdg score greater/equal to 15 AND English score greater/equal to 15; OR preparatory course-contact an academic advisor at 920-498-5444.)

SQL Programming

3 cr.

10-152-184 SQL PROGRAMMING ...write queries in a relational database: creating tables, setting primary/foreign keys, populating tables, manipulating data and reporting. Explore join types, stored procedures, functions, and database administration SQL statements. (Prerequisite: 10-152-125, Database Design)
