Biomed Clinical Internship 2
1 cr.
The focus of this course is to practice profession related tasks under the supervision of experienced staff. The student will acquire knowledge of preventive maintenance, safety analysis, and troubleshooting of medical devices and develop employability skills. (Prerequisite: Instructor approval)

This course covers maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting mechanical devices used in healthcare. It includes preventive maintenance, repair, disassembly, diagnosis, replacement of parts, testing, and calibration to keep devices safe and functional. (Corequisite: 10-620-144, Basic Mechanics)
Biomedical-Introduction to

Provides an introduction to the biomedical field. The hospital/clinical environment, safety, accepted practices and expectations will be explored.
Blood Bank

10-513-109 BLOOD BANK ...focuses on blood banking concepts and procedures including blood typing, compatibility testing, work ups for adverse reaction to transfusions, disease states and donor activities. (Prerequisites: 10-513-115, Basic Immunology Concepts)
BLS CPR Refresher

This course provides the opportunity for students who hold a current BLS CPR Provider certification to recertify their skills. To recertify, your AHA BLS Provider card cannot be expired. Students will learn Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, along with removal of foreign bodies from the airway, use of a BVM, and AED.
