Adult Echocardiography
10-526-252 ADULT ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY... explores the structure and function of the cardiac system and various pathologies in adult cardiovascular diseases. Students will learn how to assess these clinical abnormalities of the human heart through the principles of echocardiographic imaging focusing on normal, abnormal, and post-operative valvular disease, coronary artery disease, systemic and pulmonary hypertension, adult cardiomyopathies and diseases of great vessels. Lectures are correlated with scan lab demonstration. (Prerequisites: 10-526-251, Echocardiography Foundations; 10-526-222, Sonography Physics 2; Corequisites: 10-526-253, Basic EKG Analysis)
Adv Anatomy & Physiology
10-806-179 ADVANCED ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY ...this course is the second semester in a two-semester sequence that studies normal human anatomy and physiology using a body systems approach with emphasis on the interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization through learning and laboratory activities. The course continues examination of these topics: cellular metabolism; individual components of body systems; and homeostatic mechanisms and their relationship to fluid, electrolyte, acid-base balance and blood. The course also includes integration of genetics to human reproduction and development. (Prerequisite: 10-806-177, Gen Anatomy & Physiology with a "C" or better. Health programs may require a higher grade; refer to your plan for details.)
Adv Emergency Resuscitation
By teaching Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) methodologies and protocols, this course prepares the paramedic student in the integration of comprehensive knowledge of causes and pathophysiology into the management of shock, respiratory failure, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, and peri-arrest states with an emphasis on early intervention to prevent respiratory and/or cardiac arrest if possible. (Corequisites: all 10-531-XXX courses in current semester)
Adv. Patient Assess Principles
This course teaches the paramedic student to integrate scene and patient assessment findings with knowledge of epidemiology and pathophysiology to form a field impression. By utilizing a structured and organized assessment process with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, life span development, and changes that occur to the human body with time, the students will learn to develop a list of differential diagnoses through clinical reasoning, along with the ability to modify the assessment as necessary to formulate a treatment plan for their patients. (Corequisites: all 10-531-XXX courses in the current semester)
Adv. Pre-hospital Pharmacology
This course provides the paramedic student with the comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology required to formulate and administer a pharmacological treatment plan intended to mitigate emergencies and improve the overall health of the patient. (Corequisites: all 10-531-XXX courses in the current semester)
Advanced Additive Manufacturing
Introduces advanced 3D Printing theories and business principles. Manipulation of SolidWorks models to create complex 3D Printed parts is also covered. SME Fundamentals certification to accompany completion of class. (Prerequisite: 10-614-236, Intro to Rapid Prototype)
Advanced Cardiac Pathology & Case Review
10-526-256 ADVANCED CARDIAC PATHOLOGY & CASE REVIEW... provides basic knowledge and echocardiographic assessment of major cardiac pathophysiology including infiltrative heart disease, cardiac tumors and masses, pericardial disease, cardiac diseases related to systemic illness, sonographers role in invasive and non-invasive procedures and begin to explore new and emerging technologies and opportunities in the field of echocardiography. Lab demonstration and case review included. (Prerequisites: 10-526-252, Adult Echocardiography)
Advanced Chassis Systems
This course will provide the opportunity to develop the skills needed to diagnose, service and repair the electrical side of the antilock brake system, vehicle stability enhancement system, and electronic steering and suspension system. (Pre-requisites: 10-602-102 Auto Electrical and Electronic Systems 1, 10-602-124 Steering and Suspension Systems, 10-602-104 Brake Systems)
Advanced Consumer Auto Mech II
Higher level, more complex procedure and operations related to instruction relative to consumer auto repair.
Advanced Electronics
Analyze and utilize mathematical modeling for applications of solid-state devices, including Op-amps, diode circuits, BJT transistors, MOSFET transistors, switching circuits, and linear power supplies. Design basic BJT and MOSFET amplifier circuits as well as laboratory, simulation, and documentation. (Prerequisites: 10-605-161, Linear Electronics 2: JFET Amp)
Advanced EMT Refresher
Clinical decision making, pharmacology, intravenous access, and medical emergency cases for Wisconsin EMT-IT level emergency care.
Advanced Hematology
10-513-130 ADVANCED HEMATOLOGY ...explores mechanisms involved in the development of hematological disorders. Emphasis is placed upon laboratory techniques used to diagnose disorders and monitor treatment. (Prerequisite: 10-513-120, Basic Hematology)
