10-526-256 ADVANCED CARDIAC PATHOLOGY & CASE REVIEW... provides basic knowledge and echocardiographic assessment of major cardiac pathophysiology including infiltrative heart disease, cardiac tumors and masses, pericardial disease, cardiac diseases related to systemic illness, sonographers role in invasive and non-invasive procedures and begin to explore new and emerging technologies and opportunities in the field of echocardiography. Lab demonstration and case review included. (Prerequisites: 10-526-252, Adult Echocardiography)

  2. Analyze the echocardiographic evaluation of suspected or definite infective endocarditis.
  3. Analyze the echocardiographic evaluation of cardiac masses and source of embolism.
  4. Analyze role of echocardiography in systemic diseases.
  5. Analyze the role of echocardiography in the evaluation of miscellaneous diseases.
  6. Echocardiography evaluation of clinical presentations and problem solving.
  7. Describe non-invasive ancillary cardiovascular procedures.
  8. Describe benefits and utility of invasive cardiac procedures.
  9. Examine professional sustainability and growth in echocardiography.
  10. Summarize common echocardiography evaluation of the adult with congenital heart disease.
