Exploration of family law practice; marriages and other domestic relationships; contracts affecting marriage; legal actions affecting the family including annulment, divorce, legal separation, paternity, adoption; laws relating to children and reproduction; drafting pleadings and documents relevant to family law practice; ethical issues and the paralegal's role in family law practice. Lean Operations Intro

Lean Six Sigma
Develop a general awareness of Lean Six Sigma: what it is, why it matters, what makes it successful. This course provides an overview of Six Sigma concepts and language and an introduction to the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) process improvement cycle. This course will prepare you to take the green belt six sigma certification. (Pre-requisite: 10-182-112, Lean Manufacturing)
Lean Six Sigma Foundations
Gain a solid foundation in Lean Six Sigma principles and tools while preparing for Green Belt certification. This course introduces the core concepts of lean and Six Sigma, explaining their importance in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. You'll explore key terminology, strategies for successful implementation, and the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) methodology. By the end of the course, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue Green Belt certification and lead data-driven process improvement initiatives. Legal Aspects of Business Organizations
Exploration of formation, operation, and dissolution of types of business organizations, and substantive and procedural law involving business organizations. (Associate Degree Prerequisite: 10-110-101, Paralegal Intro/Legal Ethics with a "C" or better; Technical Diploma Corequisite: 10-110-101, Paralegal Intro/Legal Ethics)
Legal Computer Applications
Exploration of technology used in a law office including hardware, and general applications software, MS Office, and legal applications software for calendaring, docketing, timekeeping and billing, case/matter management; Wisconsin e-filing and electronic courtrooms; ethical issues and the paralegal's role with respect to technology in a law office. Students completing the course will earn a certificate from the National Society for Legal Technology. (Corequisite 10-110-101, Paralegal Intro/Legal Ethics)
Legal Issues & Compliance-Adv
Advanced legal issues compliance and record-keeping, with a detailed overview and analysis of major employment laws. Learners will analyze and practice record-keeping and compliance with laws in the workplace. Learners will develop workplace policies to be included in an employee handbook. (Pre-requisite: 10-196-134, Legal Issues-Supervisors)
