Fire Officer 1-Certified
1 cr.
Prepares the participant to perform fire fighter supervision and management functions at a minimum national recognized level as a company officer.
Fire Officer II Certified
1 cr.
Prepares the participant to perform firefighting supervisor/manager functions at a minimum nationally recognized level as a company officer. Students must successfully complete Fire Officer Level I, Firefighter II and Emergency Services Instructor I, prior to taking this course.
Fire Prevention
4 cr.
Provides fundamental information regarding the history and philosophy of fire prevention, organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau, use of fire codes, and identification and correction of fire hazards. Meets all requirements for Fire Inspector 1 certification with the State of Wisconsin. (Prerequisites: Fire Fighting Principles (10-503-142 or 10-503-102 or Firefighter I State Certification and advanced standing in Firefighting Principles)
Fire Safety and Survival
3 cr.
This course introduces the basic principles and history related to the national firefighter life safety initiatives, focusing on the need for cultural and behavior change throughout the emergency services.
Firefighter 1

Complete all Level 1 firefighter objectives as identified by NFPA consistent with Wisconsin Technical College System Board course requirements. (Prerequisite: 47-503-710, Entry Level Fire Fighter)
Floor Framing Systems
3 cr.
This course teaches all aspects of floor construction and flooring system construction. (Prerequisite: 10-410-110, Construction Blueprint Reading 1)
Fluids 1: Basic Pneumatics
1 cr.
What fluid power is, differentiate between hydraulics and pneumatics, implement basic pneumatic circuits, utilize schematics, apply Pascal's Law, define properties of fluids, implement airflow control and hydraulics cylinder circuits.
Fluids 2: Basic Hydraulics
1 cr.
Hydraulic pumps, basic hydraulics actuator circuits, hydraulic schematics, apply Pascal's Law, summarize the effects of fluids friction, define properties of hydraulic energy, design hydraulic circuits with directional control valves. (Co-requisite: 10-620-100, Fluids 1: Basic Pneumatics)
Fluids 3: Intermediate Hydraulics
1 cr.
Design of cylinder actuating circuits with pressure-compensated flow control valves, how to control pressure, pilot-operated check valve applications, accumulator operation and application, hydraulic motor types and applications. (Co-requisite: 10-620-101, Fluids 2: Basic Hydraulics)
Fluids 4: Advanced Hydraulics
1 cr.
Components of hydraulic pump power, characteristics of fluid conductors, issues of hydraulic system maintenance, basics of hydraulic flow and pressure in pipelines, design a hydraulic system from a specification. (Pre-requisite: 10-620-165, Fluids 3: Inter Hydraulics)
Food Theory
3 cr.
Develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of food preparation in commercial kitchens. (Prerequisite: Acceptance in Culinary Specialist technical diploma or Culinary Management associate degree; must take with 10-316-122 Professional Cooking 1)
Foundations of Case Management
3 cr.
Introduction to case management techniques and processes. Incorporates intake assessment techniques, service planning techniques, referral processes, coordination of care, and discharge processes determined by a multidisciplinary team approach. Includes client self-determination and autonomy. Incorporates clinical documentation requirements and processes. (Prerequisite: 10-550-206, Intro to Interview & Counsel.)
