10-412-101 DIESEL SERVICE FUNDAMENTALS...introduces diesel shop environment, safety, the use of manufacturer's service information and literature, handling hazardous materials, emphasizes general shop safety and general shop practices, basic equipment operation, rigging and lifting, hazardous material handling procedures, resume development, mock interviewing, and exploring industry career pathways.

What will I learn?

  1. Demonstrate shop safety and personal safety rules and procedures
  2. Explain diesel shop safety procedures.
  3. Demonstrate safe equipment operation.
  4. Prepare vehicle for service
  5. Perform safe rigging and lifting operations.
  6. Utilize industry approved vehicle lifting procedures
  7. Design a resume for the vehicle repair field
  8. Perform a mock interview relevant for a technician in the heavy equipment / agricultural equipment / heavy duty truck industry
  9. Evaluate potential career pathways in the vehicle repair field
  10. Utilize an electronic service tool to communicate to a vehicle
  11. Access OEM information and other service information.
