Invest, Dream, Achieve (IDA) is a collaboration between the Women’s Fund of Door County (a component fund of the Door County Community Foundation) and NWTC. The partnership started in 2018 with a $200,000 grant from the Women’s Fund to empower women to reach their educational goals, become financially stable, and explore career opportunities. The program is about more than just attending college and studying - it also has built-in career experiences, financial literacy training, and monthly support meetings.

“We meet with different people, from banks to HELP of Door County. Every month is different, and we learn a lot,” said Lisabeth Larson, an IDA participant. A full-time NWTC student, Larson also works full time and volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Even more than the educational and financial support, Larson appreciates the IDA community. “It’s just great to have that women support... I have an awesome support system,” she said.
