Military service members and veterans are eligible to earn credit for prior learning based upon Net Active Years of Service and transfer of credit opportunities.
Service members and veterans must submit a DD-214 showing the Net Active Years of service and other than dishonorable discharge in order to be awarded up to 7 credits as outlined below:
For One Year of Service
For Three Years of Service
To obtain a copy of your DD214, please contact your County Veteran Service Office.
NWTC will review transcripts from the Joint Service Transcript (JST) and the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) and award transfer of credit where applicable. To have your military transcripts reviewed, please request that they are sent to NWTC.
To order an official copy of these transcripts, visit the following sites:
Army, Navy, Marines & Coast Guard
If you need assistance to obtain any of the listed documents, you may connect with NWTC Veterans Service
There are other Credit for Prior Learning opportunities at NWTC. If you already have knowledge and skills, you might be able to test out of a class in your program. To get started, search for available credit for prior learning courses.
