HVAC - Technical Diploma

NWTC’s Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) program prepares students to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair environmental control systems used in residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial settings. The program is accredited by HVAC Excellence, enabling qualified graduates to earn advanced standing in United Association (UA) HVACR apprenticeship programs. Students who complete the accredited program with a C average or better and pass five HVAC Excellence Employment Ready/Specialty exams may enter a UA apprenticeship as a second year apprentice, accelerating their path toward journeyman status and career advancement. With completion of additional general studies courses a student can obtain an associate degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology.

Accreditation

NWTC’s HVAC program is accredited by HVAC Excellence, allowing graduates to qualify for advanced placement in United Association (UA) HVACR apprenticeship programs. To be eligible, students must graduate from the NWTC accredited program with a C average or better and pass five HVAC Excellence Employment Ready/Specialty exams, including Gas Heat, Heat Pumps, Electrical, Air Conditioning, System Performance (Airflow, Critical Charge, Psychometrics & Combustion Analysis). Graduates also the opportunity to obtain EPA Section 608 Certification and OSHA 30 General Construction safety training. Eligible graduates may enter a UA apprenticeship as a second year apprentice and receive up to one year of training credit, accelerating their path to journeyman status and career advancement.
