Funeral Service - Associate Degree
This program provides you with the knowledge and practical experience needed for a career as a funeral director and embalmer. Students will earn an Associates Degree after two-years of hands-on learning through lectures, labs, seminars, field trips and internships. We look forward to helping you reach your career goals!

The Funeral Services associate degree is a 2-year collaborative program between Milwaukee Area Technical College and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Upon graduation, a student will have completed 64 credits.

- Many courses require a final grade "C" or better to transfer credit to 4-year institutions. For transfer purposes, students must also meet the accepting 4-year institution requirements to earn the bachelor's degree with the accepting institution’s major(s).
- Prior to program entry, the completion of General Chemistry (Catalog number 10-806-134) and/or two semesters of a high school, lab-based Chemistry with a grade of C or better AND completion of Algebra II is highly recommended.

Covers measurement, chemical nomenclature, chemical reactions and stoichiometry, atomic structure, gas laws, thermochemistry, chemical bonding and solution chemistry. The study of self, conflict, and cultural contexts will be explored, as well as their impact on communication. Focus on disease-causing microorganisms, appropriate prevention, treatment, control mechanisms. Specific/non-specific host defense mechanisms, applications of immunology examined.
