Preparatory aspects, CPR, defibrillation, airway management, patient assessment, illness and injury management, childbirth and pediatric cases and EMS operations of first responder emergency medical care.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Preparatory aspects, airway management, patient assessment, medical/behavioral cases, trauma care, pediatric cases, and field operations in basic life-support emergency medical care. (Prerequisite: Accepted into EMT program or Fire Protection Technician program)

The preparatory aspects, patient assessment, airway management, medical/behavioral cases, trauma care, obstetric/pediatric cases and enrichment topics in basic life support emergency medical care.
Emotional Intelligence
2 cr.
This course will introduce the student to the importance of emotional intelligence in the human services field. Emotional intelligence works to increase the student's emotional self-awareness, self-regulation, core values internal motivation, increasing empathy, and building skills for interpersonal effectiveness needed to be an effective human service worker. Students will utilize these basic skills in the human service field to adapt and manage their responses to various situations. Apply reflective practitioner techniques.
Employee Recruitment/Retention
3 cr.
Applies the skills and tools necessary to hire and retain qualified employees. Legal issues, testing, screening, interviewing, selecting and negotiating techniques will be demonstrated and assessed for each learner. (Prerequisites: 10-801-136, English Composition 1; 10-196-193, Human Resource Management)
