31-442-367 GAS METAL ARC WELDING-ADV ...course provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the knowledge, skills, process and understanding of welds in the flat, horizontal vertical and overhead positions on fillet, pipe to plate, T-Joints (1F & 2F) and groove welds with and without backing (1G & 2G) on plain carbon steel using the spray mode of transfer and on aluminum. Weld quality will be discussed but this course is only used to understand the basics of the GTAW process. (Prerequisite: 31-442-306, Intro to Welding)

Installation, maintenance, and repair of residential gas appliances, venting codes, line stoppering equipment, corrosion control, regulators, metering, first aid, and customer service training. Electrical sources/circuits in gas appliances, safe practices, test equipment, reading wiring diagrams, gas/electrical control functions, ignition systems, sequence of operation and troubleshooting.
