Being a student and a parent has its challenges. That’s why NWTC offers resources and services to help parenting and pregnant students achieve academic success. We have also gathered information for a variety of community services available for parents and families. You can soar higher – we’re here to help!

NWTC Resources for Parents

NWTC Childcare Funding Program
While you pursue a degree or diploma, you may be eligible for childcare funding. Our staff can also help you find a childcare provider that works for you and your family.

Counseling Services 
Did you know NWTC offers free and professional mental health counseling services for students? Get support for depression, anxiety, substance abuse issues, attention issues, trauma, family conflict, lack of motivation, or general personal stressors. 

Paying for College
Grants, scholarships, work-study jobs, low-interest loans, payment plans – all are ways to make college affordable. We can help you figure out the best way to pay for college. 

Financial Coaching Resources
Need help building a strong financial future? Resources are available to help you with a basic budget and understanding your student loans. 

Scholarships for Parenting Students

Disability Services
Kelly Johnson, Case Manager in Disability Services, assists pregnant students or students who have a pregnant partner, by working with them and their instructors to help them successfully complete their coursework. Contact Kelly by calling 920-498-6904 or email for more information.

Community Resources for Parents

  • Forward Services Corporation - Wisconsin Works: A job-based program that provides cash assistance to eligible parents to help you prepare for a career.  

  • ACCESS - Apply for assistance with healthcare, paying for groceries (Foodshare) or childcare costs.  

  • Family & Childcare Resources of N.E.W. - Offers workshops, resources, and support for parents, including custom, computerized referrals to regulated family childcare centers, family childcare providers, and preschools in Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, and Shawano Counties.  

  • Love Life - Provides diapers, formula, baby clothing, and furniture to eligible families.
