Northeast Wisconsin Technical College will honor 2020 December graduates with a virtual ceremony this year. The College made the announcement to students today via student email.

The Mid-Year Commencement ceremony will be held virtually December 17, 2020 at 6 p.m.

“Our graduates accomplish a significant milestone when they earn their degree. I am so proud of all of them and they deserve to be recognized,” said NWTC President Dr. Jeff Rafn. “Unfortunately, as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot gather in person safely. A virtual ceremony is the safest way to recognize the class of 2020.

The virtual ceremony provides the opportunity for the entire NWTC community to come together virtually to celebrate December 2020 graduates. The virtual ceremony will be available for viewing here: Virtual Mid-Year Ceremony.

“We believe that this experience will help our students celebrate graduation with their families and friends virtually until we can celebrate in-person again,” Student Involvement Manager Megan Popkey said.

Students planning to graduate this December have received important information about the virtual ceremony at their NWTC email address.

Cap and gowns will be for sale online beginning November 3. Cap and gowns are available for purchase November 3 thru November 5 at a discounted price of $5 and will be available at full price after November 5. Reduced prices are subsidized by NWTC Student Senate.

“We know how much it takes to get to graduation,” NWTC Vice President of Student Services Dr. Colleen Simpson said. “Our graduates deserve to be recognized for working hard toward the goal of earning a College degree, which means so much to them and to their families.”
