NWTC Marinette and UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus have entered into a shared services agreement as Marinette Area Higher Education Coalition partners to provide on-site and off-site library services to students at both Colleges.

“We wanted to deepen our partnership with the UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus,” NWTC Marinette Campus Dean Jennifer Flatt said. “We are incredibly fortunate to have library staff with experience in higher education right down the street—and now right on our campus too.”

Shared library services will allow students on both campuses to benefit from the expert help of library staff and will ensure fiscally responsible use of both institutions’ resources.

John Kuhlmann and Cheryl Charon, who are both UW- Green Bay Marinette employees, will have an in-person presence on both Marinette Campuses and be available to students from either NWTC or UW-Green Bay at either location. Through the Coalition partnership, students at both campuses have been able to use both libraries since 2019.

John Kuhlmann has worked at Marinette’s UW Campus since 2007. John has a Master’s in History and a Master’s in Library Science. Prior to working in Marinette, he worked for four years at the medical library at UW-Madison.

Cheryl Charon has worked at Marinette’s UW Campus since 2016. Before that, she worked in the libraries of the Coleman and Marinette School Districts.

UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus Executive Officer Cindy Bailey said, “I believe that John and Cheryl will help us see other projects and initiatives, other ways that we can better collaborate to serve area students.”
