Intro Reading & Study Skills
Introduces, develops, and applies reading skills, academic vocabulary, and reading strategies to fluently interpret and comprehend what is read in preparation for the volume and rigor of contextualized college-level reading tasks. Note: This course is for Technical Diplomas that do not contain English Composition in their course list. If English Composition is included in the program coursework, follow the College Reading and Writing pathway. (Prerequisite: Cumulative GPA below 2.60 with appropriate reading AND writing assessment scores).
Intro to Amer Government
10-809-122 INTRO TO AMER GOVERNMENT ...introduces American political processes and institutions: focusing on rights/responsibilities of citizens and the process of participatory democracy. Examines separation of powers and checks/balances & the roles of different groups. (Prerequisite: GPA greater/equal to 2.6; OR Next Gen Rdg score greater/equal to 250 AND Writing score greater/equal to 237; OR ACT Reading score greater/equal to 15 AND English score greater/equal to 15; OR 10-831-107, College Reading and Writing with a B or better)
Intro to Bearings
Introduction to four main classifications of bearings. Proper installation, lubrication and removal of bearings. Property of bearings and estimation of life span. Proper bearing selection. (Pre-requisite: 10-620-122, Mechanical Systems 2 or Instructor Approval)
Intro to Biochemistry
10-806-186 INTRODUCTION TO BIOCHEMISTRY ...covers organic and biological chemistry necessary for application within Nursing and other Allied Health careers. Emphasis is placed on recognizing the structure, physical properties and chemical reactions of organic molecules, body fluids and acids. Discussion of biological functions and their relationship to enzymes, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and DNA. (Prereq:10-806-134, Gen Chemistry w/C or better OR 2 semesters lab-based high school chemistry w/C or better)

Intro to CNC Turning
This course provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding of shop safety around CNC turning centers, CNC turning machine control use, basic set up, and operation of CNC turning centers. (Prerequisite: 31-420-341, Machine Tool/CNC Set-Ups; Corequisite: 31-420-367, CNC/Machining Fundamentals 2)
Intro to Collision Welding
This course provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the knowledge, skills, process, and understanding of welding and cutting commonly used for collision repair. Students will learn to set up, use, and maintain welding equipment and weld a variety of types and thicknesses of steels using GMAW (MIG) welding equipment in the flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead position. Methods of cutting covered include mechanical, oxy-fuel, and plasma arc.
Intro to Cybersecurity
Learners will develop an understanding of cybersecurity methods, terms, and key technical concepts to identify and protect assets against attacks.
Intro to DMS
10-526-200 INTRO TO DMS ...introduces learners to the field of diagnostic medical sonography. Explores the duties and functions of the diagnostic medical sonographer as well as the historical background. Learners examine the other imaging modalities as they relate to sonography. Includes principles of patient care and legal and ethical issues related to sonography. (Prerequisite: Applied to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography OR Echocardiography Program; minimum HESI test score of 87)
