10-524-147 PTA CLINICAL PRACTICE 1...provides a part-time clinical experience to apply foundational elements, knowledge, and technical skills pertinent to physical therapy practice. (Prerequisites: 10-524-142 PTA Therapeutic Exercise, 10-524-143 PTA Biophysical Agents, 10-524-157 PTA Applied Kinesiology 2)

What will I learn?
- Analyze elements of a safe clinical environment
- Demonstrate professional conduct consistent with clinical expectations and setting
- Explain legal, ethical and employer/facility standards that need to be met in the clinical setting
- Identify patient values, preferences, goals, and needs that should be considered in the delivery of physical therapy services
- Identify communication strategies that may be used in various situations
- Analyze strengths and weaknesses in knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the clinical setting
- Identify pertinent data used to answer questions and make clinical decisions
- Practice physical therapy interventions (exercise, manual therapy, modalities, etc.) as directed in the clinical setting
- Select devices, equipment, and functional training needed in the clinical setting
- Practice components of documentation required in the clinical setting
- Examine activities that are part of efficient delivery of physical therapy services (fiscal, time, space, equipment, and personnel management)
