Course Description

10-150-159 LINUX SECURITY ...this course provides the learner the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, process and understanding of configuration, troubleshooting and monitoring networking equipment using Linux. Linux will be used to maintain integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices; managing secure access, configure VPN access, firewall, intrusion detection, web content security, and endpoint security. (Prerequisites: 10-150-187, Microsoft Server 2; 10-150-201, Cisco Intermediate; 10-150-153, Linux)

What will I learn?

  1. Create an "internal" network separated from an "external" network using a Linux-based NAT/Routing/Firewall server
  2. Implement automatic intrusion detection software
  3. Implement disk and operating system encryption solutions
  4. Install security certificates and configure services to effectively utilize them
  5. Utilize best practices to properly configure and operate a Linux server
  6. Implement Linux-based Virtual Private Network functionality
  7. Implement industry standard basic monitoring tools
