What will I learn?

  1. Differentiate theories and practices of I.P.M.
  2. Analyze the principles and methods of insect management.
  3. Identify different types of damage insects can cause.
  4. Explain what insect pests are causing damage on woody and herbaceous ornamentals.
  5. Demonstrate methods of pest management and predicting insect and disease development.
  6. Differentiate plant disease from plant injury.
  7. Describe types of fungicides and the disease pyramid and its relationship to disease management.
  8. Demonstrate scouting and monitoring techniques (when and where to look for problems.
  9. Describe the purpose and the importance of calibration and the fate of a pesticide.
  10. Describe the importance of pesticide material handling and storage.
  11. Successfully pass the Wis. Pesticide Applicator Exam
