Course Competencies
- PERFORM basic mathematical computations
- EXAMINE types of healthcare statistics and the ways in which they are applied
- CALCULATE inpatient and outpatient utilization statistics (census, occupancy, turnover, LOS, surgical rates, etc.)
- CALCULATE inpatient and outpatient morbidity and mortality statistics (death, autopsy, infection)
- CALCULATE epidemiological statistics (incidence and prevalence)
- EVALUATE data analytics and the ways in which it is used in healthcare
- CONSTRUCT graphical display of data using spreadsheet and statistical software
- ANALYZE data using descriptive statistics to identify patterns and trends
- EXAMINE research methodologies used in healthcare
