  1. Summarize fire dynamics.
  2. Explain the main components and steps needed for pre-fire planning and plan review.
  3. Identify the basics of building construction and how they interrelate to pre-fire planning and strategy and tactics.
  4. Describe the steps taken during size-up.
  5. Examine the significance of fire ground communications.
  6. Identify the roles of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Management System (ICS) as it relates to strategy and tactics.
  7. Demonstrate the various roles and responsibilities in ICS/NIMS.
  8. Recognize the development of Fire Service Strategy and Tactics.
  9. Determine strategies and tactics for fire confinement and extinguishment.
  10. Determine the effective strategies and tactics for rescue, ventilation, support and overhaul.
  11. Determine efficient strategies and tactics to establish an uninterrupted water supply, manage fire protection systems and salvage operations.
  12. Explain how to manage hazards and conduct risk assessments.
