Open Studio is available for artisans who are looking for a space to work on their craft outside of a class environment.

To register, please call 920-544-5018 or email Artisan.Center@nwtc.edu to setup an appointment to tour the studio and complete the paperwork.
Pricing and studio details are outlined below.
Studio Equipment and Pricing
Art Metals Studio
Price: $8/hour (3-hour minimum)
Unlimited open studio access for three months: $60 (details below)
- Fully-stocked work benches
- Soldering stations / hammering station
- Buffers / shear / rolling mill
- Bonny Doon hydraulic press
Ceramics Studio
$66.00 / 25lbs clay
Includes studio time, glaze & firings.
Studio equipment:
- Electric wheels / kick wheels
- Clay extruder / slab roller
- Various hand tools / giffin grip
- Wedging tables / work tables
- 3 electric kilns / premixed glazes
Studio clay - Continental Clay Company:
- Mid-fire white stoneware
- Mid-fire speckled
Please note:
- All clay must remain onsite
- Kilns are fired when full
Longarm Studio
Instructor Assisted Longarm Appointments: $32/hour
Solo Longarm Appointments: $10/hour
Studio equipment:
- Nolting longarm machines
- Bobbin winders
- Large work tables
- Rotary cutters & mats
- Pantographs & rulers
- Batting & bobbins available for purchase.
Rental Procedure:
1. Complete Longarm Fundamentals Class
2. Once you complete the class you are eligible to rent with an instructor or get certified for Solo Longarm Appointments.
3. To book an Instructor Assisted Appointment or book a 1-hour certification test, email artisan.center@nwtc.edu or call 920.544.5018 (make sure to bring a practice quilt for your certification test!)
4. You are welcome to continually book with an instructor at this point, or if you pass your certification test, you can book Solo Appointments.
Textiles Studio
Price: $8/hour (3-hour minimum)
Unlimited open studio access for three months: $60 (details below)

- Bernina & singer sewing machines
- Bobbin winders
- Rotary cutters & mats
- Irons & ironing boards
Woodturning Studio
Price: $8/hour (3-hour minimum)
Unlimited open studio access for three months: $60 (details below)
Studio equipment:
- Powermatic & delta lathes
- Gouges / hollowing systems
- Drill press / band saw
- Dust collection / tool sharpening
Open Studio: 3-Month Membership
Membership must be purchased for three consecutive months. Membership cannot be paused. No refunds or prorating of membership fees. Studio access based on studio availability.
More Information
- Independent use of studios is subject to safety and handling evaluations.
- Please note our new age policy for Open Studio: participants must be 10 years of age or older to use the studios, and those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Open Studio costs (hourly and open studio membership) do not include supplies and materials. Participant must provide or purchase supplies for the following studios: Art Metals, Woodturning, Textiles, and Longarm. (Some supplies are available for purchase at the Artisan Center).
- Open studio costs cover the cost of clay and the use of premixed glazes in the Ceramics Studio only.
