In this year's Lean conference, we will hear about the Lean journeys from a variety of local businesses. Share in their success stories, celebrate their revolutionary results, and relate to their stories when Lean becomes a challenge in an organization.

Attendees will get a chance to learn from experts in Lean about ways their organization can start or continue their own lean journey. Join us this September to have an open and honest dialog about the journey to True North!

Session #5 - Reducing Readmissions Through Kaizen
Presenter: Rick Fifield, Bellin Health

Using a Lean approach to eliminate waste and breaking down silos in something as complex as readmissions by engaging the hearts and minds of frontline staff to deliver better value to those they serve. By engaging the people doing the work and focusing on the patient, you are able to make the right work easier to do, improve communication and hand-offs, and reduce readmissions. At Bellin we have created the mindset of Kaizen with the readmissions team that this is about small incremental improvements to achieve the goal, putting the word ‘continuous’ in continuous improvement.
