Were You Meant to Be a Web Developer?
Web developers – also known as web architects, website designers or webmasters – use a healthy mix of creative, analytical and programmatic skills. On the job, you would:
- Write and evaluate code for websites or applications
- Design, build and modify web pages or apps using scripts, content management tools and digital media
- Develop databases to support web applications and websites
- Perform testing to ensure content functions and displays as it should
- Implement and maintain security measures such as firewalls and encryptions to protect assets
- Monitor and enhance technical performance to help web content perform better
