NWTC Service Days

NWTC Service Days logo

NWTC Service Days are short-term service projects facilitated by NWTC Service-Learning and Civic Engagement (SLCE) leaders. Each project typically lasts one to five hours. Students register for one project at a time and are not committed to attending the project regularly. Service Days are great for students who may not have a lot of time to spare but want to serve, for students who want to try several different projects to see what they like best, students looking to meet peers with similar interest, and for students meeting service-learning requirements. You can sign up for as many or as few NWTC Service Days as you like each semester!

Depending on the activity, transportation may or may not be provided. You must be an enrolled NWTC student to participate in NWTC Service Days, and register on or before the registration deadline.
 

St. Vincent de Paul - East Green Bay

Monday March 2nd, 2020 9:00 am-12:00pm Students will be assigned to assist in the area in which the organization has the most need. Such projects might include general sorting, pricing, tagging, stocking shelves, and cleaning. Deadline to register is March 1st Maximum of 10 Students Free shirt & doughnuts for participants! 3 Service-Learning Hours (If seeking 4 hours, contact rachel.scheffen@nwtc.edu)

Brown County Memory Cafe - Green Bay Botanical Garden

Tuesday March 10th, 2020 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm Activities might include event set-up, greeting, helping participants participate in an art activity, interacting and engaging in conversation, providing assistance for participants and caregivers. Deadline to register is March 4th Maximum of 6 students Free shirt for participants! This service opportunity requires a background check & brief training. This time is included in awarded service hours. 4 Service-Learning Hours

Friday April 3rd, 2020 8:50 am - 12:00pm Students will be volunteering during during horse therapy for individuals with cognitive disabilities, activities might include assisting participants, serving as a side walker, etc. Deadline to register is April 1st Maximum of 8 students Free shirt for participants! 3 Service-Learning Hours Transportation Available
