Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) has announced the appointment of two new academic leaders who will advance student success and strengthen workforce alignment across the College: Roz Kruse, dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and John Reinders, dean of the College of Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades.
“We’re excited to welcome Roz and John into these leadership roles,” said Scott Anderson, acting vice president of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development. “Their experience will strengthen how we design and deliver student-centered, employer-aligned programs that support student success and strong transfer pathways. These roles are essential to meeting the evolving workforce needs of our region and contributing to the long-term vitality of the communities NWTC serves. We’re confident their leadership will have a meaningful impact across the College and Northeast Wisconsin.”
Roz Kruse, dean of the College of STEM
Kruse brings more than seven years of experience in higher education leadership, project management, and technical education. Most recently, she served as associate dean of Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Engineering Technologies at Fox Valley Technical College, where she focused on fostering organizational culture, supporting instructional teams, and advancing student-centered, workforce-aligned programming.
In her role at NWTC, Kruse will lead STEM programs in engineering, mechanical design, science, mathematics, and information technology.
“I’m honored to join NWTC and excited to collaborate with faculty, staff, and partners across the region,” said Kruse. “STEM education plays a vital role in preparing students for today’s workforce and future opportunities, and I look forward to advancing innovative pathways that align student goals with regional needs.”
Kruse’s background includes close collaboration with K12 partners, employers, and cross-functional teams to expand access, strengthen dual-credit and transfer opportunities, and support hands-on learning experiences.
She holds a master’s degree in leadership and organizational development from Lakeland University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering. She also earned an associate degree in construction management from Fox Valley Technical College.
John Reinders, dean of the College of Advanced Manufacturing & Skilled Trades
Reinders brings more than two decades of experience at NWTC, having served in instructional and academic leadership roles throughout his tenure. Most recently, he served as associate dean of the College of Business, Communication and Social Sciences, providing leadership across multiple academic areas and supporting instructional teams in delivering high-quality, applied learning experiences.
As dean of advanced manufacturing and skilled trades, Reinders will oversee programs central to the region’s workforce such as manufacturing, architecture, construction, agriculture, energy, automotive and diesel.
“I’m proud to step into this role at a college whose mission to support students, strengthen our communities, and partner with industry has shaped my professional journey and leadership for more than two decades,” said Reinders. “Advanced manufacturing and skilled trades are built on hands-on learning, strong instruction, and close partnerships with employers. My focus is on making sure our students are gaining the skills, experience, and confidence they need to succeed in today’s workforce.”
Reinders began his career in the printing industry, advancing through roles in press operations, prepress, and production management. He led electronic prepress and graphic design teams, trained youth apprentices, and worked closely with clients to keep production running efficiently. These experiences continue to shape his hands-on, workforce-focused approach to education and his commitment to programs that strengthen local industry and communities.
Reinders holds a master’s degree in leadership of educational organizations, a bachelor’s degree in visual communication from American InterContinental University, and an associate of applied science in marketing and graphic communication from NWTC. He also continues to grow as a leader through programs such as Leadership Green Bay and ongoing professional development that keeps him closely connected to education and the community.
These leadership appointments support NWTC’s ongoing work to build clear pathways from education to careers through strong academic, transfer, and industry partnerships that benefit students and the communities we serve.
