NWTC is using federal COVID-19 relief funds to make college more accessible to students during the global pandemic. With the funds, the College has been able to offer limited debt forgiveness, emergency financial relief, and additional needs-based tuition assistance to help students in most need of financial support.

Two of three funding rounds have been distributed. As of July 1, 2021, NWTC distributed more than $3.7 million to students per the terms and conditions outlined in the grant awards from the U.S. Department of Education.

The third round of funding, the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF), was signed into law with the American Rescue Plan. The money was made available to students this fall semester and will continue to be an option for future semesters while funds last.
