One Thing to Know: New Spaces for Marinette Students

If you watch home improvement/decorating shows like Love It or List It or Fixer Upper, then you’re familiar with the “big reveal.” You know, that moment when the owners come back after weeks or months to their renovated house and exclaim, “Are you sure this is the same place!?”

I felt as equally awestruck as any HGTV show participant when I walked through the new main entrance and Welcome Center at the NWTC Marinette campus today. Bright, open spaces filled with natural light and fresh décor greeted me first, followed closely by a warm welcome from staff.

The newly-renovated Welcome Center was designed with students in mind – to make the student experience as easy and seamless as possible. That’s the one thing Christine Polzin, NWTC Marinette campus manager, wants people to know about this first phase of Marinette campus construction.

Resources including academic and financial advising, admissions, accommodations, the bookstore, study rooms, and the library are all now within steps of each other – making college life a little easier for NWTC students who lead incredibly busy lives.

That "student-first" spirit also spills into newly-updated learning labs that model real-world work environments. Labs for the following programs are all ready for fall: Welding, Electro-Mechanical Technology, CNC Machine Tool, Automotive and Health Sciences (Nursing-Associate Degree, Practical Nursing, Nursing Assistant, and Physical Therapy Assistant).
