Why join TRIO?
- Priority registration: Pick your classes before the general student body.
- Exclusive events: Access to workshops, networking, and social events.
- Travel opportunities: Go on trips to explore transfer opportunities at four-year universities.
- Graduation swag: Earn a special graduation cord to celebrate your achievement.
- Career and transfer guidance: We’ll help you find high-wage career paths and smooth transfer options if earning a bachelor’s degree is a goal.
The best part? Everything we offer is completely free for TRIO students.
Is TRIO for you?

- You are a first-generation college student (neither parent has a 4-year degree).
- You are struggling with financial resources.
- You have a documented disability.
Meet Megan Weycker,

“I’ve had the best experiences on our campus and am grateful for the opportunity to work with such hardworking and inspiring students,” Weycker said.
With a background in mental health, foster care, and community resource work, she is looking forward to using her experience and knowledge to support students in ways that suit their unique needs.

What excites you about being part of TRIO SSS?
TRIO SSS offers an incredible opportunity for students to receive extra support to confidently reach their academic goals. I am excited to help launch this program and to work closely with our amazing students! Building meaningful connections with students as they plan and navigate their college journey is extremely rewarding, and I’m honored to be part of their success stories.
How can TRIO positively impact students/student success?
TRIO has the potential to make a profound impact on students and their long-term success. Through individualized case management, students will receive guidance in visualizing their goals and mapping out the steps to achieve them. TRIO supports students by clarifying their next steps while also offering opportunities for exposure to four-year college transfer options and customized workshops on financial literacy, scholarship applications, self-care, and other topics that will be identified by the students themselves. In addition, TRIO students will have access to a dedicated space designed just for them where they can receive tutoring, study, or relax between classes.
What are the top three things you want students to know about TRIO?
- TRIO services are completely FREE! Students can receive all of the support and resources the program offers at no cost.
- Our support is fully individualized. TRIO is not a one-size-fits-all program. Each student will work with staff to create a personalized goal plan and define what success looks like to them.
- TRIO is an amazing opportunity for students to find community on campus. Through exclusive workshops, events, and a dedicated space, students can build meaningful relationships with peers who share similar lived experiences.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? What space or activity brings you joy?
I’m a busy mom of two, so much of my time is spent at dance classes or at the skatepark. I love reading, camping, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. I also enjoy traveling, and I was recently fortunate to spend a week exploring Belize. A few places on my travel bucket list are Peru, the Netherlands, and Glacier National Park.
