What will I learn?
- Configure commonly used computer operating systems to provide access to computer networks.
- Configure a client operating system to utilize an IP configuration appropriate for a given network.
- Diagnose problems with the operating system, hardware, and network configuration using appropriate utilities.
- Troubleshoot the registry configuration database in a Windows client operating system.
- Install, maintain, and remove 3rd party software on a computer system.
- Configure a client operating system to join, utilize, and withdraw from an Active Directory domain.
- Configure authentication, file system security, and personal firewalls to protect data from unauthorized access.
- Configure the sharing of file system data and printing devices between client operating systems.
- Assess various backup strategies commonly used to protect the data and configuration on a client operating system.
