10-150-177 WINDOWS CLIENT ESSENTIALS...this course will provide the learner the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, process, and understanding of client OS installation, configuration, administration, including troubleshooting, network connectivity, standard system maintenance procedures, and command line introduction.

What will I learn?

  1. Configure commonly used computer operating systems to provide access to computer networks.
  2. Configure a client operating system to utilize an IP configuration appropriate for a given network.
  3. Diagnose problems with the operating system, hardware, and network configuration using appropriate utilities.
  4. Troubleshoot the registry configuration database in a Windows client operating system.
  5. Install, maintain, and remove 3rd party software on a computer system.
  6. Configure a client operating system to join, utilize, and withdraw from an Active Directory domain.
  7. Configure authentication, file system security, and personal firewalls to protect data from unauthorized access.
  8. Configure the sharing of file system data and printing devices between client operating systems.
  9. Assess various backup strategies commonly used to protect the data and configuration on a client operating system.
