10-526-195 RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGING ANALYSIS...prepares radiography students to analyze radiographic images for quality. Students apply quality control tests to determine the causes of image problems including equipment malfunctions and procedural errors (Prerequisite: Enrolled in Radiography program)

What will I learn?

  1. Summarize the steps in the decision-making process used in image analysis
  2. Apply the process for evaluating radiographs for adequate density, contrast, recorded detail, and acceptable limits of distortion
  3. Differentiate among technical factor problems, procedural problems and equipment malfunctions
  4. Summarize the standards for acceptable image quality
  5. Analyze image artifacts
  6. Evaluate image for proper anatomical presentation
  7. Identify the purpose of quality management programs
  8. Perform quality control tests for analog and digital systems
  9. Analyze quality control test results for analog and digital systems
  10. Identify common radiographic manifestations of equipment malfunctions
