Course Description

10-543-102 NURSING SKILLS ...focuses on development of evidence-based clinical skills and physical assessment across the lifespan. Content includes mathematical calculations and conversions related to clinical skills. In addition the course includes techniques related to obtaining a health history and basic physical assessment skills using a body systems approach. (Prerequisites: Accepted into Nursing-AD Program; Corequisites: 10-543-101, Nursing Fundamentals; 10-543-103, Nursing Pharmacology)

Monday Mandatory Skills Practice: 1200 - 1400; Tuesdays and Thursdays:
Mandatory Skills Check off 0700 - 1400

A minimum of 6-12 hours of additional practice in the skills lab outside of class time is strongly advised to be successful in this course. Individual checkoffs will be scheduled outside of class time and faculty will provide more details about these scheduled checkoffs.
