10-605-163 MICROPROCESSORS 1: INTRODUCTION ...use of simulation software, fundamentals of C language programming, basic logic and control, analog and digital inputs, flowcharting, motor control, objects, and PWM techniques. (Pre-requisite: 10-660-105, DC 2: Circuits; 10-660-103 Digital 3: Registers; or Instructor Approval)

What will I learn?

  1. Describe microcontroller/microprocessor architecture.
  2. Investigate arithmetic operations used in microcomputer systems.
  3. Utilize program planning tools. (flowcharts, pseudo code, or others)
  4. Use various numerical representations and variable types
  5. Utilize simple decision instructions in a program.
  6. Demonstrate input and output instructions in a microcontroller program.

  • IMPORTANT: Each class consists of lecture delivered in person plus additional time in the Tech Hall lab, Room ET129 or the Mech Hall lab, Room ET120 during the posted open lab times. Plan approximately 30 hours to complete both portions of this class.
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Tech Hall Lab, Room ET129, is open Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm; Fridays 8am-3pm; Saturdays 8am-1pm. The Lab will observe all College closure holidays and breaks.
