- Differentiate types of contracts affecting marriage and other domestic relationships
- Differentiate annulment, divorce and separation actions, and their effects on marriages
- Use effective checklists for gathering information relevant to legal actions affecting the family
- Draft pleadings and documents relevant to the domestic relations field.
- Apply the laws of child support, legal custody and physical placement
- Describe state laws and procedural steps relating to the various methods of establishing parent-child relationships
- Explore state laws relating to children
- Explore the laws relating to reproduction
- Describe the function of the paralegal in family law practice
- Describe ethical issues commonly arising in a family law practice.
