10-152-180 JAVASCRIPT and DOM ...Use JavaScript to manipulate a web browser’s Document Object Model (DOM). HTML and CSS are also used to create and update the page design. JavaScript is used to create objects, functions, validate web forms, store local data, access server data, and public API endpoints. (Prerequisite:10-107-117, Careers in IT; 10-152-185, Website Coding HTML & CSS)

What will I learn?

  1. Generate syntactically correct JavaScript expressions
  2. Execute JavaScript from within an HTML document
  3. Build and execute user-defined JavaScript functions
  4. Construct JavaScript decision structures
  5. Construct JavaScript repetition structures
  6. Utilize various browser events to activate JavaScript functions
  7. Use the Document Object Model to create, read, update and delete elements in the HTML document.
  8. Reference and validate form components with JavaScript
  9. Manipulate string and Date objects using JavaScript
  10. Debug JavaScript code
  11. Use the Document Object Model to asynchronously fetch data and incorporate it into the HTML document.
