10-412-151 INTRO TO DIESEL MECHANICS ...introduces the student to the tools and equipment used in a heavy duty diesel shop, vehicle classifications, fasteners and repair hardware, drilling and tapping techniques, broken bolt extraction, and basic shop equipment operation. (Prerequisite:10-412-101 Diesel Service Fundamentals)

  2. Utilize common industry tooling and equipment.
  3. Utilize common diesel mechanic shop measuring instruments.
  4. Identify appropriate fasteners and hardware for repair applications.
  5. Utilize industry approved vehicle lifting procedures
  6. Utilize industry approved overhead lifting procedures
  7. Locate and identify major class 7 and 8 truck components
