75-861-969 ELL LEVEL 1 GRAMMAR/WRITING - BEGINNING ELL LITERACY 2020... The English Language Learner will practice grammar and writing to develop beginning literacy skills. Instruction will incorporate numeracy, civics, technology, workplace skills, and academic language to prepare students for the next ELL level.

What will I learn?

  1. Identify meaning from text.
  2. Communicate various social, workplace, and academic contexts at a basic level.
  3. Express an opinion about familiar topics, experiences, or events.
  4. Use basic elements of research with support.
  5. Recognize the point and/or the argument of an author/speaker.
  6. Select appropriate words, phrases, and simple sentences to communicate about personal, social, academic and/or workplace information.
  7. Recognize basic standard English conventions in writing and speech.
  8. Recognize frequently occurring vocabulary in personal, academic, social, content-specific, and workplace settings.
