10-660-111 ELECTRONICS 2: TRANSISTOR-BASIC ...introduction to the characteristics, bias and usage of semiconductor transistors in amplifying circuitry. BJTs and general amplifier characteristics are studied. (Pre-requisite: 10-660-110, Electronics 1: Diodes-Basic)

What will I learn?

  1. Examine the operating characteristics of BJT transistors
  2. Analyze bias circuitry of BJT transistors
  3. Construct basic BJT transistor circuits
  4. Calculate input and output parameters for generalized amplifiers
  5. Distinguish the characteristics of the three possible transistor amplifier circuits

Class Notes

1. IMPORTANT: Each class consists of lecture delivered in person plus additional time in the Tech Hall lab, Room ET129, during the posted open lab times. Plan approximately 30 hours to complete both portions of this class.

2. This course may require purchase of a parts kit in ET129. See course syllabus for details.

3. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  Tech Hall Lab, Room ET129, is open Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm; Fridays 8am-3pm; Saturdays 8am-1pm.  The Lab will observe all College closure holidays and breaks.
