What will I learn?
- Distinguish the characteristics of specialty types of diodes
- Analyze circuits using three diode models
- Calculate current, voltage and regulation in Zener diode circuits
- Calculate ripple using capacitor and inductor/capacitor filters
- Analyze a complete regulated power supply
- Assemble diode circuits following a circuit diagram
- Expired: Describe the formation of a PN junction in doped semiconductor material
- Expired: Describe the characteristics of specialty types of diodes

Class Notes
1. This class is taught through a combination of in-person lab work and online learning materials. Students will complete the hands-on lab activities in the ET129 lab space during the posted open lab times. The remaining learning materials can be accessed anywhere using internet. Plan on spending approximately 30 hours to complete this course. Before beginning lab work in this class, please review the online course materials and talk to an instructor in ET129. For questions on coursework, please reach out to the instructor of the class through Canvas.
2. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Tech Hall Lab, Room ET129, is open Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm; Fridays 8am-3pm; Saturdays 8am-1pm. The Lab will observe all College closure holidays and breaks.
3. This course may require purchase of a parts kit in ET129. Please reference the class syllabus for details.
