10-413-205 ELECTRIC MOTOR WIRING and CONTROL, In this course you will have the opportunity to learn motor starters, overcurrent protection, overload protection, motor branch circuits, starting methods, troubleshooting motor circuits, and line voltage motor connections. (Prerequisite: 10-413-210, Industrial Wiring and Control; Corequisite: 10-413-104, Industrial Code)

What will I learn?

  1. Demonstrate the use and operation of an electric motor starter with overloads.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to analyze, design, and install both manual and automatic control devices in circuits to operate motors and solenoids.
  3. Design motor ladder logic control diagrams using industrial symbols based on given circuit specifications.
  4. Implement ladder logic into a functioning electric motor control wiring project.
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in safely wiring and troubleshooting line voltage connections for single-phase and three-phase electric motors.
