Course Description

10-526-219 DMS CLINICAL EXPERIENCE 4...prepares the student to assume the role of a sonographer. This course enhances the student's scanning and employee skills through clinical practice. Serves as a transition between student and employee. (Prerequisite: Accepted into the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program; Corequisite: 10-526-276, DMS Clinical Experience 3)

What will I learn?

  1. Complete an Abdominal Aorta ultrasound examination independently.
  2. Complete a Renal & Bladder ultrasound examination independently.
  3. Complete a RUQ/Abdomen Limited ultrasound examination independently.
  4. Complete an Abdomen Complete ultrasound examination independently.
  5. Complete a Thyroid ultrasound independently.
  6. Complete Scrotal ultrasound independently.
  7. Complete a Non-Cardiac Chest (pleural effusion location) ultrasound examination independently.
  8. Complete a Transabdominal Pelvic ultrasound examination independently.
  9. Complete a Transvaginal Pelvic ultrasound examination independently.
  10. Complete a 1st trimester (Transvaginal or Transabdominal) ultrasound examination independently.
  11. Complete a 2nd trimester (Complete Anatomical Screening) ultrasound examination independently.
  12. Complete a 3rd trimester Follow-Up (Growth) ultrasound examination independently.
  13. Complete a 3rd trimester Biophysical Profile fetal wellness ultrasound examination independently.
