Course Description

10-660-113 DIGITAL 4: ALU ...unsigned and signed arithmetic using binary numbers, the construction of adder circuits and subtraction circuits, and the analysis of a computer ALU is studied. (Prerequisite: 10-660-103, Digital 3: Registers)

  6. Analyze a parallel adder circuit

  8. Use integrated circuit adders to accomplish BCD addition
  9. Analyze the operation of an integrated circuit ALU
  10. Use an ALU to perform various operations typical of a microprocessor

Class Notes

1. IMPORTANT: Each class consists of lecture delivered in person plus additional time in the Tech Hall lab, Room ET129 during the posted open lab times. Plan approximately 30 hours to complete both portions of this class.

2. This course may require purchase of a parts kit in ET129. See course syllabus for details.

3. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  Tech Hall Lab, Room ET129, is open Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm; Fridays 8am-3pm; Saturdays 8am-1pm.  The Lab will observe all College closure holidays and breaks.
